Conscious Aging: Emerging as a Gardener

I’m emerging as a gardener late in life, for reasons too complicated to explain. In Rochester I used to pay people to do all of this. “All of this” is much more complicated in Seattle, so now I am a gardener too, with help, and proud of it.

No idea what this plant is, but it reminds me of an exploding fireworks.

My herb garden is sprouting. Thank you Phyllis, dear friend and cheerleader.

Would like to take credit for this beauty, but all I have to do is water.

Red hot pokers. Attract hummingbirds.

  1. Beautiful – and well done, Pam! I’m curious about the “fireworks” plant too. Will see if I can find out. If you remember where you bought it, take in a photo and maybe they can tell you. Ever onward – you ARE a gardener!

  2. for Phyllis: Have asked Laurie, the person who is helping me, what the plant is. Will let you know. 🙂

  3. Don’t know about you, but I always get a kick out of seeing little green shoots come up! It will be a while before you have edible herbs, but have patience. Look forward to getting the name of the fireworks plant.

  4. for Phyllis: As we’re getting more consistently warm days, the herbs are growing apace. Excited. Thanks for the nudge!
