Lynn has been here for a week, and on Sunday she heads into Panama City with David as chofer to see the Miraflores locks at the Panama Canal, and then to the airport hotel for her overnight stay. Her flight back to Seattle is on Monday morning.
That meant her despedida dinner — farewell dinner — was on Saturday night. We ate at the nicest restaurant at the hotel, and Rufina and Ana joined. None of the Panamanians who come to the villa with me have much or any experience with high end restaurants. I feel a particular responsibility to Miley and Hazel, who will go to university and may well be invited to a nice place as they begin work. I explained about first courses, and main plates, and desserts, and that you can choose one of each but you don’t have to. You can eat fewer courses if you want.
Everybody pretty much ate everything, and a good time was had by all. 🙂
