We were going to grab an Uber from the hotel to the Cinta Costera, the walk along the waterfront. But with the Pope arriving and hordes of young people all over the city, there were no cars available. We negotiated for a driver from the hotel, a woman who agreed to take us to the drop off spot and then pick us up again at the lunch spot later in the day. There seems to be a premium on everything this week. Lily helped me negotiate and we got her down a bit, but I still paid more than I should have. Part of that was having a guaranteed car to get back, so I agreed.
The weather is sunny and hot; it was a lovely walk.
Panama is an interesting mix of the very old, and the very new.
