Panama 2019: Missing Minga

I had a lot of good reasons for not turning around and coming back to Panama for Minga’s funeral, and in the end I didn’t come. But I should have, so Ana wouldn’t have had to wait so many weeks to sit with me  and tell me how much she misses her mother and how hard that last day in the hospital was.

  1. It’s best not to think of all the “should haves…” There’s always lots when a loved one dies. You made a huge difference in Minga’s life and she in yours. You were there with her the week before she died and have returned to mourn her, support her family, and celebrate her memory.

  2. for Katie: Minga herself was never judgmental of me, so trying not to judge myself. Thanks for wise words.
