Trump’s Transactional View of Life

Increasingly it looks as if Jamal Kashoggi, a Saudi nationalist and journalist living in the United States, was lured into the Saudi Embassy in Turkey under pretense of securing documents that would allow him to marry his Turkish fiance’. There, Kashoggi was likely killed at the direction of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman — Jared Kushner’s main man in the Middle East.

Trump’s reaction neatly epitomizes his transactional view of life. Anything goes if the price is right. Trump wants to sell the Saudis 100M in weapons systems, and he doesn’t want one dead guy, a journalist at that, to jeopardize all that money.

So Trump will “look into” the murder of Kashoggi.

Don’t hold your breath.
