Susan Collins

Senator Susan Collins of Maine purports to be a moderate Republican and backer of women’s reproductive rights. She’s gotten a lot of support, financial and otherwise, from moderates on both sides of the aisle. After her long speech justifying the vote for Kavanaugh, Collins no longer deserves that support. At the end of the day, she falls right into line behind McConnell.

She’s up for re-election in 2020, and I hope moderate voters who have supported her in the past take heed. There are better candidates out there, and I hope one of them runs and defeats her. Time for her pretense of moderation to end.

  1. Money corrupts and interferes with our decisions. I once asked Sid for advice about a potential donor with a potential deal and he commented—“As long as it is legal” We need to get rid of those now legal $$$ in our system.
I am going to Temple this morning to pray for our country. And more importantly, I will VOTE

  2. for Linda: Vote is about all we can do at this point. How could we have been so fooled by Susan Collins, listening to her words — before this last disastrous speech — instead of her voting record, 99% with McConnell.

  3. I have a great deal of uncertainty about the intellect and courage of Americans. There’s too much (crazy) group think. It’s frightening.
