Getting to Know Seattle: Smoke Gets in Your Eyes

Seattle is having that air inversion thing again. Smoke from the British Columbia fires is being drawn into Puget Sound, where it hangs still and leaden over the city. When you step outside, you can smell and see the smoky air. Our air quality is “unhealthy for sensitive groups”. I’m not having any breathing issues, but I’m not doing a lot of activity outside either.

Fresh winds are supposed to blow all this smoke out over the weekend. I can’t wait to see blue sky again.

  1. We are experiencing the same smokey skys as far as the East Coast! kind of scarey, isn’t it!!

  2. for Linda: It is. I can’t imagine how terrifying it must be when flames are not far behind. Everyone who has had to evacuate from a fire has talked about how stunningly fast the fire moves.
