Look Back at the Election

I always thought, despite my heartbreak at Hillary’s loss, that Trump won the 2016 because he generated more enthusiasm and she had too much baggage. But as the excruciating days and weeks of the Trump administration wear on and new revelations come out almost daily, I’ve changed my mind. I believe that if voters had known all the information — about Russian interference on the side of the Trump campaign, about the FBI investigation into Trump operatives’ contacts with Russians, and about Trump lawyer Michael Cohen running a payoff racket to squash multiple Trump infidelities — that enough voters in the swing states would have chosen Hillary and she’d have won.

Trump is, in my view, an illegitimate president. That makes everything he does, like his Supreme Court nominees, fruit of the poisonous tree.
