Another Update on the Landscaping Project: Mulch Arrives

The mulch has arrived, and the flower beds look just great. I’m impatient to have things planted, but the dryness of the ground is evident. I watered on Monday, and on Tuesday everything was bone dry again. I think it would take hours of watering every day just to keep new plantings alive. I doubt I could keep up with it. I think the best plan is to wait to plant some things until fall, and then put in a lot of bulbs and such for a glorious spring bloom.

Right now I’m relishing how nice the garden looks, even with just the old growth greenery in there.

  1. for J: I know you guys do all this work yourself. But I’ll bet even your big strong husband would have been daunted by the cleanout — four people, three guys and one very sturdy woman, for nine hours, working steadily all the way. Lots of blackberry canes with big thorns. And one very displeased raccoon. 🙂
