Philadelphia Day 3: Longwood Gardens Best Pic

Longwood Gardens, built by Pierre Samuel DuPont of the industrialist DuPont family, is one of the stately and well endowed grand gardens that dot the country and Canada: Butchart Gardens in Victoria, Brookgreen in South Carolina, Winterthur, another DuPont garden in, in Delaware, Sonnenburg Gardens in  upstate NY.

The most stunning pic I got all day was not natural and not the gardens, but rather a constructed stone grotto with fountain — a fairly recent addition to these expansive grounds.

  1. Great shot – beautiful. Longwood is on my list, but I haven’t gotten there yet. Your trip sounds wonderful; a good mix of sightseeing and music.
