Move Update: Full Bore Ahead

Sara and Ben’s close date is Tuesday, and they get the keys on Wednesday. Then they have to move out of Sara’s current house, get it cleaned, have appliances delivered to their new home, move in, and start the process of getting settled.

Logistics are Sara’s sweet spot — she’ll be a field general at this.

My move in is April 16. I know where my furniture is going to go, but I keep moving my art work around in my mind.

Fun to have a new focus.

  1. I’ve always found it useful to live in a new place for a while to get the feel of the space before I hang art work and place decorative items. It doesn’t have to be a long time! Lighting and furniture placement may influence what you do. Have fun!

  2. for Phyllis: I think that’s true. I went to a really interesting lecture at the Seattle Art Museum about curating an exhibit, and the curator talked about how one piece “speaks” to the others that are near. Placing art work, even in a large exhibit space with neutral walls, is a very deliberate endeavor.

  3. Can’t wait for you to get in your new home. Sounds like your going to love it. Pictures to follow when you get in .
