Snow in Rochester

Friend and regular reader Jackie noted my post about daffodils for sale in Rochester in early March — courtesy of Wegman’s, the locally owned grocery chain. She sent me this pic, of the sidewalk in front of her home, taken during Friday’s storm. Rochester has gone from temps in the mid-60’s to this. No daffodils poking through the ground here!

  1. for Phyllis: I am. You probably remember my long front walkway from the door down to the sidewalk on San Gabriel Drive. I had a snowplow for the driveway, and the city plowed the sidewalk. But it was increasingly harder to find kids to shovel the walkway, and I often wound up doing it myself. With heavy, wet snow — which March snow usually is — the shoveling was a chore. Never mind that I’m not used to that degree of cold weather any more.
