Travel Day

I’m headed to mid-coast Maine for the Camden Conference, which is an annual foreign policy conference aimed at “fostering informed discourse on world issues.” The theme this year is “New World Disorder and America’s Future”. The Conference organizes itself around a singular theme each year, and they draw great speakers and sellout crowds. The speakers are diverse and include both women and men prominent in their fields. Looking at the extremely interesting speaker profiles reminds me what  throwback to white male America Trumpworld is.

I’ll also be seeing Jerry’s family, both in Maine and in Boston, and meeting a new grand-niece for the first time. This is a week-long trip, and I’ll be posting daily, bringing you along to the Conference with me.

  1. for Katie: Will give specifics as I attend the various sessions. The Conference typically draws great speakers.

  2. for Katie: Actually flew into Boston, there overnight Wednesday, and going up to Rockland on Cape Air — 12 seater. Forty five minutes as opposed to 3.5 hours driving, but the cramped quarters makes the flight up close and personal, as in they ask you how much you weigh, so they can decide where to seat you. 🙂
