The Panama Canal is one of the engineering marvels of the world, and first time visitors to Panama quite rightly want to go there. Now you can also see the bigger, longer Panamax locks that accommodate bigger ships. There isn’t a tourist viewing spot over there, but you can see the huge cargo ships going through from the longtime visiter center at Miraflores Locks.
I’m going to make the pic of the Panamax ship large, so you can see it. I’ll put the other pics in a separate post.
In the foreground is a ship that is being raised to the second lock at Miraflores. To spot the Panamax ship, let you eye move down the slope of the small hill on the left side of the pic. Where the line of the hill ends, that’s the bridge of the big container ship. Can you see it?
