Icy Niagara Falls

While we’re at it, Niagara Falls is about 75 miles west of Rochester. We used to drive there in the summer as a family outing, enjoying the parks on the U.S. side without bothering to make the crossing into Canada. One year we heard the Falls on both sides were encased in ice, so we bundled up and went. It truly was magical. Apparently it’s been cold enough for the Falls to freeze again, so take a look.

  1. for J: I love the physical beauty of upstate New York. We did go often to Niagara Falls when the kids were a little younger than yours. Great place to run around, and the Falls were always breathtaking.
