The star atop our Klainer family Christmas tree wasn’t expensive — in fact, it’s a rather cheaply made plastic thing. But the star endured for years and years back home in Rochester. On the move to Seattle with Sara the base split open, and then the star itself detached from the base. Fixing a plastic star isn’t easy, but Sara and Ben managed with some heavy tape and lot of super glue. Now the Klainer family star graces Sara’s tree, and it makes my heart smile.
