Less than a half hour north of Seattle is Woodinville, a wine-tasting mecca. The actual Washington state vineyards are a couple of hours east, over the Cascade Mountains on land that is drier and hotter than Seattle. But the vineyards maintain their tasting rooms much closer to the city, to attract locals and tourists alike.
Who knew that December 23rd is a big wine tasting day? Midge and Jerry wanted to go, and Ben and Sara and I went with them. Great way to fill the time while eagerly awaiting Santa. 🙂
