Inequality and the Republican Tax Bill

Wall Street wins. Grover Norquist wins. Republicans in Congress, who desperately need a legislative victory, win.

Republicans seem to think ordinary Americans will accept increased economic inequality– which will be the result of this tax bill — as long as Trump et al continue to throw red meat in terms of trashing reproductive freedom, making villains out of observant Muslims, making hate speech acceptable, and withdrawing the United States from its leadership role on the world stage.

In the 2018 elections, we shall see.

  1. A new poll which asks “Who do you want to run the country in the future?” shows Democrats ahead by 10-12%. Good news!

  2. for Phyllis: All signs of encouragement. Still going to be a heavy lift because of Republican control of redistricting, but signs are moving in the right direction.
