People around Trump seem to share core traits: a snide, bullying temperament, a tendency to make wealth the measure of human value, and an indifference bordering on contempt for the lives of ordinary people. Oh, and an inability to let anything go. I think there’s an old saying that goes something like, “you can tell a person by the company he keeps”.
Trump and Melania — and Pence and his wife — were pictured at Steve Mnuchin’s wedding to Louise Linton, she who just went off via her Instagram account on an ordinary person who commented on what appeared to be Linton’s travel at government expense. Linton’s lengthy rant was brutally condescending, concluding with this:
“You’re adorably out of touch … Thanks for the passive aggressive nasty comment. Your kids look very cute. Your life looks cute.”
Mnuchin’s Yale classmates, 300 of them, sent him a letter urging him to resign on principle after he stood by Trump’s side during Trump’s rant about Charlottesville. Instead, Mnuchin issued a rousing defense of Trump’s indefensible comments.
And now the rant from the wife, which makes them all look like birds of a feather and suggests that anyone in this crowd standing on principle is as likely as my flying to the moon. Honestly, are any of these people you’d want to call a friend?
