Lily and Gloria came to the U.S. in 2013 — neither had been anywhere other than the village or Panama City before. Both were dazzled by the excitement of travel. Only Lily has the capacity to follow up and travel on her own. She works as chief pharmacist for the largest Panama City store in the Arrocha chain and gets a regular salary.
Now, Lily is planning a fall trip to Honduras and Nicaragua. She has a cousin in one country, and a friend in the other. She is very excited, and has asked me for tips — although I’ve never been to either country.
All of us who travel know the mind-expanding benefits of being part of another culture, even for a few days or weeks. I’m so glad Lily is doing this.
