What Shapes Trump Voters’ Minds?

Regular blog readers know that I typically watch the CNN Sunday morning shows. I especially like Brian Stelter’s Reliable Sources, which is about how the news works. One of Stelter’s segments had to do with a slightly negative shift in conservative media coverage of Trump.

What dawned on me is that we have a base of core Trump supporters, somewhere between 30-40% of the population, whose political views are largely shaped not by critical thinking or even personal experience, but by Rush Limbaugh et al. If Rush and his cronies on Fox & Friends like Trump, these voters like Trump. If not, not.

It’s why Trump keeps Bannon around, I think. Trump is afraid Breitbart will savage him if he cuts Bannon loose.

What a dark, ugly, mean-spirited world they live in.
