Leopold’s has the best home made ice cream in Savannah, or so they say, and they’ve been serving up cones and sundaes and shakes and floats for 65 years. The also have 1950’s style sandwiches, like cream cheese and olive [Phyllis’ choice], or egg salad [my choice], or BLT or PB&J. The have a working juke box with 45 r.p.m. records to entertain you while you eat. This is another thing that would completely mystify my grandkids: music coming out of this? How does that happen?
I had butter pecan, and Phyllis enjoyed the rum raisin. Happily we each settled for a single scoop, which turned out to be the largest single scoop I’ve ever seen.
