On Sunday afternoon Katie and Ron hosted a lovely book event for me. Most of the guests had read the book, so we had a deeper discussion than is often the case. Katie had ordered wonderful food, including a five foot long submarine sandwich, fruit, salads, and Italian pastries. Have you ever seen such a terrific looking sandwich? 🙂
Many of us have siblings, and one thing that always evokes a lot of discussion is how the sibling experience differs, depending on birth order and what was happening in the world and for the family. Even when siblings remember the same events, they can recall the emotional content very differently.
People are also fascinated with my Panama Peace Corps experience — often saying they couldn’t have done it. I’m proud to have done it, and of course the two years there brought my my enduring friendship with Minga.
