New York Day II — Terra Cotta Warriors

Friends Katie and Ron picked me up at the hotel, and we went from there to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see an exhibit of Qin and Han dynasty Terra Cotta warriors.

MMA is a national treasure. It’s clearly spring break week for a lot of school districts, and the museum was filled with families. Imagine living in NY where you could go to the Met any time you wanted and take in your fill of the world’s extraordinary history.

  1. Saw the terra cotta warriors when we were in Xi’an .
First entering huge area with the whole army literally took my breath away. Unforgettable experience. Two of the farmers who discovered the site were there that day and answered questions through an interpreter. It was a day that will live in my mind forever

  2. for Ada: This exhibit is quite wonderful — we should have planned one more day! I could easily have seen it twice.
