New York Day II — Temple of Dendur

One of my must-do’s in Metropolitan Museum of Art is the Temple of Dendur. I used to go there as a high school kid, when I’d tell my mother I had to go to NY for school and visit the Cloisters and write a report. I never did that, but I went to MMA and visited the mummies and the Temple. It’s a little like lighting a candle at St. Patrick’s — it’s soothing to me to revisit that history.

  1. Your brief mention of visiting as a young girl reminded me of this delightful book, written for young readers — From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil F. Frankweiler, by E.L. Konigsburg. I read it when Suzy was young – middle school probably. When you have a couple hours where you’d like to simply be delighted, check it out.
