Panama 2017: Minga at the Party

Minga gets cold — hard to imagine in this tropical climate, but she does — perhaps as a function of her kidney disease. My dear friend Mary, a guest again this year, brought Minga a soft, warm shawl. As you can see, it’s already being put to use. It’s a little cooler at night in the village, maybe mid-80’s, enough for Minga to want to be warmly wrapped.

Minga gets tired at night, which you can see in her face and posture. But she’s not one to miss a family birthday.
