Panama 2017: Minga and Me

One of the things I most love about my dear Panamanian sister of the heart is her warm physical embrace.  She is more that way with me than with her own daughters, particularly when they were growing up, life was hard, and she needed them to stay on task and fulfill their responsibilities. She was a very strict, although loving, mother. But toward me, she has always been just as you see here.

  1. Sweet. I also have wonderful memories (and photos) of her hugging me after my aunt died last year while I was in Panama. She knows exactly how to show love and caring.

  2. for J: She is tiny, really, really tiny. Always has been. Strong woman, though — you don’t cross her. 🙂
