Andy Borowitz is a satirist for the New Yorker. I heard him interviewed on NPR, where he made the best one-line observation on the 2016 election that I’ve heard:
“In a year when the global challenges facing the U.S. are the most complex and difficult we’ve ever faced, the voters elected a reality TV-show host as president.”
Who does Borowitz think the electorate will turn to next? Alex Trebek of Jeopardy. Trump, Borowitz is sure, has started a new trend.
