Seattle Festival of Lights

Seattle-ites are a hardy bunch in the winter, turning out in droves for a free public celebration of lights at the Seattle Art Museum sculpture garden near where I live. Museum staff must have spent the better part of the day placing luminaria along the various paths. A guy showed up wearing a coat of lights — he was a big hit. A brass band decorated with lights led us all in a parade. There was a DJ in the indoor facility — people were dancing, sipping coffee, and there were arts and crafts activities for children. The night time temperatures were cold but there was no rain — I think people would have shown up anyway. 🙂
