Minga on Mother’s Day

Panama has its own Mother’s Day, which comes in December. It seems as if Minga was named Queen Mother of the village — I’m sure she was thrilled. This photo is courtesy of la profesora Daira, who traveled from the city to Rio Hato to join in honoring their mother. This pic is in Minga’s home, in front of her Christmas tree beautifully decorated for her by the family.

  1. for Nedra: I’m sure she was thrilled at this honor, and I’m so happy for her. Her seamstress daughter Rufina always makes sure she has a lovely dress to wear, hand made and fitted.
