You may have read about Trump’s tweet attack on the union president who said Trump “lied his ass off” about the number of jobs saved at the Indiana Carrier plant. But this isn’t the first time Trump has attacked an individual via tweet, prompting an ongoing vicious and threatening tirade by Trump supporters.
In this case cited by the Washington Post, the young woman was 18 years old; she questioned then-candidate Trump at a rally in a manner to which he objected. He attacked her on Twitter, and the online abuse has not abated:
“For Batchelder, who studies history and gender studies at Saint Anselm College in Manchester, N.H, the abuse continues more than a year later. Five days before the election, she received a Facebook message that read: “Wishing I could f—ing punch you in the face. id then proceed to stomp your head on the curb and urinate in your bloodied mouth and i know where you live, so watch your f—ing back punk.”
Trump and his surrogates continue to demand that we put the election behind us and show Trump some respect. I’d say respect is earned, and Trump hasn’t even gotten to the starting gate. If Melania Trump wants to make cyberbullying her signature issue as First Lady, she might start with her husband.
