  1. I never remember Seattle as having much Fall color. I think of it as being mostly evergreens. I wonder if that has changed over the last 15 years, if Bremerton and Whidbey are more evergreen than Green Lake, or if my memory is simply faulty? E

  2. for Ellen: I think it has changed some over the last 15 years, and I do think Bremerton and Whidbey are more evergreen than areas immediately surrounding downtown Seattle. The Pacific Northwest is still primarily a place of old growth coniferous forests. You’d never mistake a walk through Olympic National Park with the trails of Mendon Ponds. But as you see from these shots of Green Lake, fall color is here and stunning.
